This heater is recommended for ponds up to 1000 gallons - an additional Thermo-Pond should be used for ponds over 1000 gallons of water and 3 should be used for ponds over 5000 gallons - an additional heater should also be used in ponds requiring extra gas exchange due to excessive plant decay or large quantities of fish under the ice
