GFO is the best method of removing Phosphate and Silicate in all types of Aquariums. Even low levels of phosphate often lead to algae growth and interfere with the growth of all stony corals. Therefore nearly undetectable levels of phosphate should be maintained in all reef aquariums. The use of inexpensive phosphate test kits will not provide accurate readings in the ultra low levels of phosphate the should be maintained. The use of a high quality kit or photometer is strongly suggested for measuring low levels of phosphate.
•Standard Capacity GFO is lighter than high capacity and requires requires less flow to tumble, making it the ideal media for use in a reactor •High Capacity GFO is almost twice as dense as the standard capacity GFO, thus allowing almost twice as much media to fit into a reactor. High Capacity GFO is exceptionally hard and has less dust to begin with. Fewer fines will be created during use and preparation. By volume High Capacity GFO will remove about twice as much phosphate as the standard GFO making it the best overall performer.
