The Cut-Your-Own Phosphate filter is impregnated with special phosphate grabbing resin. The molecular resin coating has a tremendous ability to pull phosphates from the aquarium water. Phosphate levels depend on types and sizes of fish, fish food, fish density, plant density and sources of other organics. The use of phosphate filter media will reduce the need for frequent water changes, reduce nutrients used by algae, and improve overall water quality.
